The story of Planty started out on the Plainpalais market in Geneva, producing and selling vegan wraps with our home-made seitan.
The seitan was a huge success with our customers and now we make Planty Seitan once a month so you can make delicious meals with it yourself! Also our favorite vegan pastry, the chocolate chip cookies are on the menu. We work with a small team to do our production and product development in Geneva.
Our mission is to offer a product so delicious that choosing a plant-based alternative is a true pleasure. We also find it important not to create any food waste, which is why we produce on order only.
We have the pleasure to cooperate with different local restaurants, shops and cafés in Geneva, where you can pick up your seitan and cookie orders on fixed days. We really find pleasure in connecting you with other local and responsible businesses, and the people behind it.
Planty`s chocolate cookies are for sale at Le Bocal Local and Chez Mamie in Geneva. And you can regularly find Planty Seitan on the menu of Café du Grütli and Coco`s Cuisine.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!Seitan is a protein-rich product with a meaty structure, based on wheat proteins and (in our case) chickpeas, flavoured with different herbs and miso. It`s a really great plant-based replacement for meat. Seitttan originates in China around 6th century, where it was mainly used in dishes for buddhist monks, who were vegetarians.
How do I cook it?You can eat our seitan cold in a salad or in a cold wrap. No need to cook the seitan, cause it is already a cooked product. You can also eat it warm by pan frying it in some oil. Planty Seitan goes great in wraps, pasta sauce, in curries and stews.
How do I keep it?You can keep the seitan in your fridge, but if you don`t eat everything at once, freeze it! It unfreezes very quickly and taste and structure stay the same.
